At 288 pages, Infidel, by Ted Dekker, is a sequel to Chosen, Dekker's first book in The Lost Books Series. The main character Johnis, finally discovers that his mother is still alive after being kidnapped by the Hoarde. After traveling in the desert for two days, Johnis and the other chosen three stumble upon the Hoarde City, Thrall. Johnis has a choice: rescue his mother and Silvie, or betray Thomas Hunter, the supreme commander of the Forest Guard.
