Carry a big stick: The Uncommon Heroism of Theodore Roosevelt Is by George Grant, and has 203 pages. He was the president during the second world war. Roosevelt’s mother and wife died on the same day, leaving him with a tragedy he would never forget. He faces even bigger problems while president of the United States that included conflicts of every type. Overall, Theodore was able to stay strong through the toughest of times.
Roosevelt led the nation through tough times while staying strong through his own conflicts. His mother and wife died on the same day while he was in their house. To make it worse, it was St. Valentine ’s Day. While going to make a speech on October 25th, “Teddy” was shot. He refused to go to the hospital until his speech was finished. Sadly, all four of his sons were sent to fight the Germans in WW1, and only two came back. Over all, Roosevelt was a great man that wanted to make the world a better place. I think everyone should read this book, it’s great.
